Let’s dive into the details. What is Breadbox? Breadbox is a realistic simulation of vintage computers, designed to capture the essence of iconic machines. Imagine sitting at a Commodore 64 or another classic system, complete with its distinctive design and functionality. You can tinker with hardware, load old software, and even practice programming in BASIC or 8‑bit machine language. Features: Faithful simulations of Commodore 64, VIC‑20, and PET 2001‑8. Authentic retro experience with floppy, tape, and cartridge sounds. Built‑in media library for cassettes, disks, and cartridges. Immersive CRT‑style visuals with scanlines and glow. Interact with hardware, load vintage software, and program in BASIC or 8‑bit machine code. Smooth performance with support for classic file formats and modern resolutions. Limitations and possibilities: No emulators or original software are bundled, but setup makes adding one easy. With an emulator, you can practice coding and play original games. Tutorials teach you about media formats and how to load software. Discover how vintage computers work, learn to code, and build your own retro programs. Supports many keyboard layouts and game controllers (see manual). Future Plans: More classic systems may be added in future updates Development will adapt to feedback and the passion of the community.
